Rauw Alejandro
Raul Alejandro Ocasio-Ruiz (born January 10, 1993) who is also known professionally as Rauw Alejandro is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He has been called the "King of Modern Reggaeton".[2][3] He belongs to the "new generation" of Puerto Rican musicians. [4] His debut album, Afrodisiaco (studio album) was released in November , 2020. The second album of his studio Vice Versa, which debuted in June 2021 and featured the lead single "Todo de Ti". From twelve nominations, he has won two Latin Grammy Awards. Raul Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz was born on January 10 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was raised in Canovanas and Carolina. [4][5] His father guitarist Raul Ocasio, along with his mother and backing vocalist Maria Nelly Ruiz, introduced him to a variety of musical inspirations, such as Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Chris Brown. 6 Alejandro lived with his father for many years in the United States, mostly New York City and Miami where the music he listened to was influenced by R&B and dancehall. Alejandro and Anuel an ally, a other Puerto Rican rapper, were childhood pals. They both attended the same high school and took part in classes. [9][10] Alejandro participated in school talent shows in his early years since he was a lover of dancing. After graduating from high school, Alejandro attended the University of Puerto Rico. He played soccer from six to twenty-five. However, he quit playing because he wasn't performing as well as he had wanted to. In the year 20 his injury was a major one. He moved to Orlando, Florida to attempt to be scouted in the Premier Development League (PDL) and was ultimately unsuccessful. Rauw Alejandro is renowned for his Latin R&B, Latin Reggaeton and rhythmic pop music. Billboard stated that it has been instrumental in helping "set him out from the growing group of reggaetones with a pop-leaning". Presley and Jackson have influenced him from the beginning before being and then Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee and Chris Brown. He also mentions Ciara as an influence in music.
