Alison Maria Krauss - born on July 23, 1971, is an American bluegrass and country vocalist. As a teenager, she made her debut in the music world winning local competitions as early as 10 years old, and recorded her debut album at 14 years. In 1987, she released her solo debut album after joining Rounder Records. She joined the group with which she continues to perform, Alison Krauss Union Station. The group released their debut album in 1989.
